Landscape Lab and James are the best choice in Edmonton for landscaping. I wanted landscaping done on my new home and had reached out to many companies to get estimates and ideas for what could be done in the front and back yard spaces. James is the only one who was able to understand my theme, and was able to bring it to realization. His craftsmanship is the finest, going above and beyond to ensure that in the end the landscape is perfect. He has vast knowledge on shrubs, trees, plants and is able to tell us, on the spot, how the plants will develop over the coming years. His quality is such, that I had no problem with going away for a few days and leaving decisions in his trusting hands. He is honest, trustworthy, and capable. James and his team are phenomenal. They put their client first every step of the way, from the initial consultation all the way to the final walkthrough of the landscape that has been taken off paper and is now in front of your eyes. They provided an initial quotation in a detailed breakdown that made it easy to understand the costs. They work with you, understanding your vision and coming up with solutions to creating a space that was better than you could imagine. When analyzing our plant list he was informative of how these plants would respond to our soil zones, and climates and came up with alternatives that would work better and give same effect we desired. James and his team are considerate with every detail, ensuring that every choice is the most optimal, from orientation, placement, sizing, sun/shade exposure, layout flow, and longevity of items – there was no detail overlooked. Landscape Lab is amazing! We had a very boring front and back yard that we wanted to change it, but other than a few general ideas (like wanting lots of trees and plants and not wanting any lawn), we didn’t know what we wanted. The guys spent a lot of time sketching out designs and working with us to make sure it was perfect, and then they took care of everything: grading; sprinklers; a complex, curving flagstone path; building a fence; hauling in boulders, gravel and rocks; planting all types of trees, shrubs clover and flowers; and setting up lighting. When specialists (plumbing, electrical, etc.) were needed they looked after all that, so we only had to work with them. At the end of it all we ended up with an amazing, serene, alpine themed front and back yard that is full of tree and birds, and the guys are always ready to come back and work on new little projects that come up. Would highly recommend them, especially if you are like us and don’t like your current landscaping but maybe don’t know exactly what you do want.

We had the best experience with James and Landscape Lab (summer 2024). Our landscaping needed a significant refresh and James guided us through the process of making decisions and selecting appropriate plants and shrubs. He is infinitely flexible and accommodating, as sometimes we didn't really know what we wanted - or what would work. He gave us a detailed plant list and made really helpful suggestions as we went along. James and his crew of helpers worked quickly and efficiently, and didn't hesitate to take on grunt jobs. For instance, they moved, cleaned, and put back into the flower/shrub beds heaps of beautiful river rocks from the original landscaping, a task another local landscaper refused to do - they would have hauled them to the dump! I'm very impressed with how quickly the snow removal process happens following a snowfall. The small touches, like asking if I have dogs so that the animal safe ice melt is used makes a difference for me. The whole experience has been very professional and will happily continue landscaping services in the warmer months. Landscape Lab was referred to us and we're very happy with the work and the results! They levelled our stone retaining wall planter at the front of the house, levelled our pool pad and walkway, added window well extensions, and did some foundation re-grading.
