A landscape layout determines the placement of objects (plants, boulders, etc) in space, how those objects will be organized into visual lines and shapes (straight, round, wavy, etc), and how your space will be separated into areas with different functions. When choosing a layout type don’t think too hard just see one(s) you instinctually like or dislike most, after all you can always change your mind later.

A Landscape Style determines the kinds of colours, textures, and objects (plants, rocks, etc) to be used in a design. A single style provides a consistent and harmonious look. Incorporating elements of multiple Landscape Styles can add uniqueness and create an innovative landscape. You can also add, remove, or mix and match elements and characteristics of different garden styles. There are many garden styles to chose from and while some have a typical or customary layout associated with them, any garden style can be arranged into any landscape layout for a unique and creative result.

Landscape features are about how you want to use and feel in your space. Do you want fences and or screens for privacy and security, a patio and or deck for friends and family to gather and share a meal, an outdoor kitchen to cook, space for fun and activities, irrigation to minimize maintenance work, a relaxing pond or fountain to attract birds and wildlife, art or sculpture to elevate your aesthetic.
